Introducing....Me

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! I can't wait to get to know you as we go through life together.

Let's start with the basics. The first thing you typically ask someone you've never met is, "What's your name?" I'm always curious to hear the answer. In my family, names are important, not just because of the way they sound, but because of what they mean. It's how I ended up having a Russian name: Lara. People still can't seem to understand that it's said how it sounds. Not Laura. La/ra.

Secondly, I am homeschooled. Don't worry, I still have friends, like to get out of the house, and do not, I repeat DO NOT, spend all day in my pjs. Trust me, after going to a dance school for almost five years, I've heard that question WAY too many times. :)

I've been interested in storytelling and writing in general since I was little. My parents said even when I was four or five I was always coming up with ways to entertain my siblings, weaving stories from whatever period of history we'd studied that week. I've kind of outgrow that now, instead of narration, I write, hence the portion of my blog dedicated to writers.

I am also a teenager just like many of you. I like to wear cute clothes, text my friends, and listen to music. In the summer, I love swimming, walking on the beach, and experimenting with photography.But enough about me, I'm sure you're wondering what this blog is about in the first place so allow me to explain.

Girl Talk

The most obvious place to start. This is the part of my blog where I'll tell you about my every day life. I'll (hopefully) have some interesting stories to tell you as the summer unfolds, as well as giving you a glimpse into my not so ordinary life.

The Book Nook

Despite the fact that it took me FOREVER to learn to read, I've grown into quite the bookworm over the years. Books open up a way to escape my reality and travel distant realms through the eyes of a character who I often times envy. In this section I will be talking about my favorite books, why I liked them, as well as any spoilers that I saw when I was reading. If you guys have any book recommendations for me I'd love to hear them, just leave a note in the comments section and I'll try to get to them as soon as possible.

Writer's World

The last part of my blog, this is the spot for all you crazy people who dialogue with imaginary friends in your head all day or spend your weekends locked up in your bedroom with coffee, depressing music, and a laptop. Don't worry, I sympathize; it's how I like spend a few hours (or more if I'm in a good place) on the weekends. While I exaggerate slightly, this page will have writing prompts that I made up or stole from Pinterest, interesting facts only a writer would know, tips on characterization, and occasionally when I manage to finish one, a short story.

That's it for now, but depending on how I'm doing this summer I may end up adding another section to this blog. Tell me what you guys think in the comments as we start our journey together.
